The Swami Dayananda Educational Trust places great value on the maintenance of social structures that foster community interaction and bonding. The Swami Dayananda Community Hall is an easily accessible centre for celebrations and events, and has all necessary amenities provided for. The Trust has also constructed public toilets for common use.
Sanitation and personal hygiene in rural areas has been in the spotlight for a few years now – and for good reason. Lack of proper toilets in villages is a key reason behind the spread of water-borne diseases, among other health issues. Women and girls face an even bigger issue due to lack of privacy and safety in the absence of decent sanitation facilities. SDET has taken steps to tackle and address these issues in Manjakkudi. As the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan is implemented across the nation, SDET has stepped up efforts tohelp this small village in Tamil Nadu keep pace with the national cleanliness programme.: to date 54 toilets and septic tanks have been installed in the households in Manjakkudi.
Built as a space for villagers to hold their celebrations and meetings, the Swami Dayananda Community Hall with a capacity to accommodate about 250 people, is managed and maintained by SDET and provided to the villagers free of cost.
A 900-seater air conditioned auditorium in the heart of the campus is a destination for celebrating a wide range of occasions pertaining to Swami Dayananda Educational Trust. Training programmes, seminars, lectures and concerts are regularly celebrated here. A spacious foyer for exhibits, generator back up for power supply, LED projector along with its highly maintained ambience add to the charm and comfort of the space. With clean washrooms and fire alarm and other safety measures, the auditorium is at par with international standards.
