We are delighted to share some great news. The Swami Dayananda College of Arts & Science, Manjakkudi, Tamil Nadu, has achieved a notable milestone in the NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) Winter Internship 2026 programme during the January–April 2026 session, with three candidates—two students and one faculty member—qualifying based on their performance in NPTEL courses.
The NPTEL is a project of the Ministry of Human Resources (MHRD) and initiated by the 7 IITs in the country.
Among the selected candidates, Sri. Amalraja UL, Faculty, Department of English, secured an impressive final score of 90 in the NPTEL course Refugee, Migration, Diaspora offered by IIT Roorkee, earning the prestigious Elite + Gold certification.
Two students also earned Elite certifications. Ms. Mahalakshmi R from the Department of Chemistry, secured a final score of 61 in Basics in Inorganic Chemistry, offered by IIT Bombay while Ms. Gayathri S from the Department of English, secured a final score of 60 in English Language for Competitive Exams, offered by IIT Madras, Chennai.
The achievement is particularly noteworthy as 37 candidates from the institution appeared for the NPTEL examinations, with 18 candidates successfully obtaining certification. The overall local chapter results comprised 3 Elite + Gold, 4 Elite + Silver, 4 Elite and 7 successfully completed certifications.
The NPTEL winter internship provides an opportunity for eligible candidates to gain academic and practical exposure under the guidance of professors at the respective host institutes. The internship is generally is four weeks long. An attractive component is the stipend, Rs. 15,000 for in-person and Rs. 5,000 for a virtual internship, payable upon successful completion of the internship and submission of the required report and certification.
The successful performance of the candidates reflects the Swami Dayananda College of Arts & Science’s continued encouragement of continuous learning, academic excellence and engagement with national-level online learning initiatives.
